Say Goodbye to IE 6

Can you just believe it?! This was like a dream came true…
I have a whole list of IE 6 bugs and fixes that I have to keep in mind all the time. I’m going to present my readers with this list soon so stay connected! Meanwhile you may want to consider Ultimate collection of IE fixes

Microsoft itself has recommended its users to stop using IE6 due to a security hole. You can take into consideration Microsoft Security Advisory (979352)

So it’s obvious that Internet Explorer is not only a headache for designers (broken box model, not support of valid css) but also a serios security hole in the system.

Now what? Well Google, Adobe and others victims of an IE have decided to stop supporting IE 6. Google decided to drop support for IE6 on March 1 for the Google Docs Suite and Google Sites, the rest to follow later in 2010.

Every experienced developer knows that there are a lot of issues with IE6 and I am sure many developers could support me in saying that it is all for the best IE6 is not being dropped. I want to congratulate everybody who is happy about this great moment in web development history!

Do you have something to say on the subject? Do you think users should give away the idea of using IE6 or is it just our (web developers) problem? What about those who runs Windows XP and have IE6 pre-installed?

P.S. Btw if you want to write youself down to the history you can do it here
